Ms. Collins earned a Bachelor's of Arts in English, a Master's in Education, and a Certificate of Education Specialist in Gifted Education from Louisiana State University.

She is certified to teach the Gifted and is certified to teach Advanced Placement Literature and Composition. She has also received extensive training in teaching PreAP English courses.

She has also successfully completed National Board Certification.
