PTO

Dear Parents;
Welcome back to Woodlawn High School 07-08 school year. I hope that each and every one of you had a wonderful summer!

Parents: PTO builds bridges between home and school, by integration the efforts of parents with those of principals and teachers. When you get involved in PTO, the child who benefits the most is your own. You are also taking a major step toward improving your child’s school and your community. PTO promotes the education, health, and safety of children and families.

PTO’s mission is to support and speak on the student’s behalf in the community before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions that affect children. PTO also assists parents in developing the skills necessary to raise and protect their children. PTO promotes parental and public involvement in our school.

Why become a member of PTO? PTO keeps parents informed. Involved parents better understand the challenges schools face and become part of the solution. PTO supports education through active participation and advocacy. We focus on what students need to be successful in their learning, including proper nutrition and safe, healthy environments.  Strong schools mean stronger communities. PTO membership is open to anyone concerned with the education, health and welfare of children. When you become a member of PTO you will receive a weekly e-newsletter that will keep you informed about current and future events at Woodlawn. Please become a part of your child’s future and their school.

Thank you,

Your President
Samantha Cockerham
