Louisiana Virtual High School

The Louisiana Department of Education in partnership with The Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts provides Louisiana high school students access to standards-based high school courses delivered by Louisiana teachers through The Louisiana Virtual School (a BESE 8(g) funded project). Students in LVS courses utilize the web, e-mail, and other online and offline resources to complete a rich course of study in a multitude of courses.

The LVS affords schools the opportunity to expand learning opportunities to students through courses that would not otherwise be available to them. The 2009-10 school year marked the 10th year the Louisiana Virtual School program has been implemented. Most LVS courses are offered as full year courses following a traditional time schedule. However, some courses are offered as full-credit block courses or as half-credit semester courses. For course offerings go to: http://www.louisianavirtualschool.net/courses.php

Any Woodlawn student who desires to take a course through the Louisiana Virtual Classroom Program must have principal’s and site coordinator’s approval prior to enrollment.
