3 CREDITS REQUIRED FOR GRADUATION

Students must take Biology and two of the following:  Physical Science, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Physics, or Biology II.

PHYSICAL SCIENCE
Grade  - 9
A survey course consisting of chemical and physical science.  The basic course for other high school science classes.  This course involves problem solving and learning scientific processes.

PHYSICAL SCIENCE - HONORS (TR)
Grade  - 9
EXTRA QUALITY POINT WILL BE GIVEN

This course is designed for the more advanced freshman who wants to maximize his or her science potential.  Students will move at a more accelerated pace and will do more research and projects.  PREREQUISITE:  Must have an A or B average and teacher recommendation.

BIOLOGY I
Grades -  10, 11, 12

This course covered an overall picture of life including the cell.  It offers a survey of the various kingdoms, the human body, heredity, and aids the student in identifying and interpreting his biological environment and problem solving.

BIOLOGY I - HONORS (TR)
Grade  -    10
This course is designed for the more advanced sophomore who wants to maximize his or her science potential.  Students will move at a more accelerated pace and will do more research and projects.  (Science Fair project is required.)  PREREQUISITE:  Teacher recommendation is required.

CHEMISTRY
Grades -  10, 11, 12
This course prepares for a college major in the physical sciences or engineering.  It requires rigorous mathematical calculations.  PREREQUISITES:  C or BETTER in Algebra I, and college preparatory Physical Science, plus credit or enrollment in Algebra II.

CHEMISTRY – HONORS(TR)
Grades -    10, 11, 12
The material covered in Chemistry Honors includes the basic chemistry covered in regular chemistry, but requires more intense study at an accelerated pace.  PREREQUISITE:  Algebra I, enrollment in Algebra II and Teacher Recommendation.

ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE
Grades -    11, 12
A study of water, air, and soil and their after effects on man, animals, and vegetation.  The factors concerned with the balance and the imbalance of biome systems.  This course will include field trips and outside work.  PREREQUISITE:  Physical Science and Biology

PHYSICS
Grade  -     12
This course prepares for a college major in the physical sciences or engineering.  It requires rigorous mathematical calculations.  PREREQUISITE: C or BETTER in both Algebra I and II, Geometry, and college preparatory Physical Science.

PHYSICS – HONORS (TR)
Grades -        11,12
Physics (Honors) is offered to students who are capable of going beyond the concepts covered in regular Physics class.  The same material is covered at a faster pace and in greater depth.  PREREQUISITE:  Algebra II, enrollment in Advanced Math and Teacher Recommendation
