The Woodlawn High School Jazz Ensemble is made up of exemplary players expressing an interest in jazz.  The class is open to all band members that successfully audition with the director.  This ensemble is dedicated to performing very specialized music from the jazz idiom.

Regular performances by the Jazz Ensemble include the Lee Fortier Jazz Invitational Concert at Baton Rouge High School, Loyola Jazz Festival, Christmas Concert, Spring Concert, Spring Commencement, school assemblies, and other functions as announced.   All students are encouraged to audition for All-Parish and All-State honor bands.  After school rehearsals are sometimes necessary; you will have sufficient notice.  Attendance at all performances and rehearsals is required of all band members.
